I²TL operates across three interlinked pillars, namely Teacher Development,Digital Education, and the Education Innovation Fund (EIF), to promote excellence in pedagogy, support technology-enhanced learning, and catalyze student-centered educational innovation across the institution. The Institute emphasizes students as partners and co-creators in the design, testing and implementation of innovations.

The Digital Education pillar aims to consolidate techno-pedagogical expertise and promote the effective, evidence-based use of emerging technologies in education. It provides centralized support for faculty and students, fosters innovation in digital teaching and assessment, and ensures that technology enhances teaching and learning at the University of Luxembourg and beyond.
