National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST), one of the largest public research organizations in Japan, focuses on the creation and practical realization of technologies useful to Japanese industry and society.
Leveraging the diversity and comprehensive capabilities of its 8 research fields, approximately 2,300 researchers across 12 research bases are conducting research and development from a central and pioneering position within the national innovation ecosystem, in response to changes in the innovation landscape and in accordance with national strategies formulated in light of these changes.
Research Scientist Position with AIST (Tenured) is normally offered to a candidate with significant research achievements and management experience.
We also welcome those who do not have a doctoral degree but who are motivated to utilize their practical experience at a company for the social implementation of AIST's R&D.

[Compensation]
Annual salary:6 million yen
Wages description:Base monthly salary for new Ph.D. graduate is 316,000 JPY.
Additional amounts are added if you have proven professional experience after obtaining a Ph.D.

New Ph.D. graduate (28 years old): Approximately 6,300k JPY (before tax)

*The model annual salary applies when the Discretionary Working Time System is in effect.
*The model annual salary is the total of base monthly salary, work responsibility allowance, and bonuses. It does not include commuting allowance, housing allowance, dependent allowance, etc.
*Since the full bonus is not paid in the first year of employment, the actual annual salary will be lower than the model annual salary.
*The model annual salary is for reference only and is subject to change due to revisions to AIST Salary Policy or other factors.
