* Background of the recruitment and description of the project
Our university promotes transdisciplinary research integrating humanities, sciences, and medicine within the Faculty of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation. To further strengthen this transdisciplinary research, we are recruiting faculty members specializing in social simulation. Applicants are expected to conduct research and education on addressing complex societal challenges based on social simulation methods used in fields such as computational social science. Furthermore, applicants should have research achievements in one or more of the following areas: agent-based simulation, multi-agent systems, cyber-physical systems, the metaverse, or social infrastructure.

[Work content and job description]
Education and research in the above-mentioned field of spcialization.
(1) Class duties:
Undergraduate specialized education (College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation), Graduate specialized education (Division of Convergence Science, Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative):
Courses related to the above fields of expertise, as well as courses required in the College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation and Division of Convergence Science, Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative curriculum. Our university provides transdisciplinary education integrating humanities, sciences, and medicine and convergent knowledge within the College of Transdisciplinary Sciences for Innovation and Division of Convergence Science, Graduate School of Frontier Science Initiative, and applicants will be responsible for courses related to their field of research. For example, courses related to the above field of expertise, such as “Smart Supply Chain,” “Network Mechanism Design,” “Social System Engineering,” “Fundamentals of Mathematical Behavioral Models,” “Social Issues in the Context of Regional Revitalization,” “Digital Twins and Crisis Management,” or “National Resilience,” “Multi-agent and Optimization,” as well as other courses required by the college and division. The specific courses to be assigned will be decided in consultation with the applicant, taking into consideration their preferences and background.
Notes: Some of the courses listed above may need to be taught in English.
(2) Non-class duties:
Student guidance, supervising research, students’ recruitment, admissions, job guidance, social contribution, etc.
(3) Other necessary duties deemed by the head of the department.
