The project also welcomes potential applicants working on metalinguistics, philosophy of language, and linguistic traditions, who will aim to contribute to the project’s objectives from a comparative perspective.

Shortlisted candidates who wish to submit an MSCA-PF application will receive dedicated guidance and support from Ca’ Foscari’s Research funding office , helping them to develop a competitive and high-quality proposal.

Join us at Ca’ Foscari University of Venice and contribute to groundbreaking research!

About the ALiDiM project

The ALiDiM project examines the formation and development of Arabic linguistic thought and the grammar-making of Classical Arabic, exploring the linguistic and extralinguistic factors that shaped these processes, including the role of scholars and the influence of other traditions. By analyzing 7th–10th century grammatical and lexicographical sources, ALiDiM sheds light on how Classical Arabic was originally described and systematized, highlighting the interplay between language, culture, and identity, and its enduring role in the Arab(ic)-Islamic world.
