Offer Description

The post is for a permanent position. The area of research is Romance Philology and Linguistics.
Requested research duties: Research will encompass the field of medieval Romance languages and literatures, specifically focusing on the Iberian, Gallo-Romance, and Italian contexts. By integrating traditional textual criticism with cultural history, the successful candidate is expected to examine the medieval Romance world through a diachronic, interdisciplinary lens that draws upon a multilingual framework including Italian, French, Spanish, and English. Research shall be conducted in synergy with the Department of Humanities, alongside a network of international universities, research centers, and local cultural institutions.
Requested teaching duties: The teaching commitment, in accordance with the University regulations, will be carried out in the framework of courses in Romance Philology and Linguistics, Romance Philology and Textual Criticism, and Medieval Studies, within the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Literature, the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programs in Languages, and as part of the PhD programme of the Department of Humanities.

The following people may apply for the position advertised here:
a) candidates who have obtained national scientific qualification (“A.S.N.”), pursuant to art. 16 of Law no. 240/2010, for the academic recruitment field 10/E1 (Filologie e letterature medio-latine e romanze) corresponding to the discipline group covered by the announcement and for the functions covered by the procedure, or for higher functions provided they are not already holders of the same higher functions;
b) candidates who are declared suitable by the Academic Qualifications Procedure, as per law no. 210/1998, for the academic discipline included in the academic recruitment field 10/E1 (Filologie e letterature medio-latine e romanze), and for the level corresponding to the position advertised in the selection procedure, or for a higher academic level, as long as they do not hold the position, for the period in which the suitability remains valid;
c) professors already working at other universities at the level corresponding to that of the selection procedure;
d) academics working at universities abroad in teaching or research work at an academic level equal to the level of the position advertised in the selection procedure, on the basis of the table comparing Italian academic positions with positions abroad as defined by the Ministry in Ministerial Decree no. 456/2023.
