Offer Description
The development of innovative technologies oriented towards long-term sustainability is essential to address the growing energy demand, both on Earth and in Space. In this context, biological systems provide a particularly valuable source of inspiration, as self-sustainability is an intrinsic feature of living processes. The research activity is aimed at the development of a new generation of solar-pumped microlasers inspired by the light-harvesting mechanisms and energy efficiency of natural photosynthetic complexes. In particular, the research includes the design of optical microcavities, the fabrication of microlasers based on bio-inspired hybrid materials, and their characterization under optical and solar pumping. Within the framework of device development, activities related to the advanced spectroscopic characterization of the gain media and microfabrication are also envisaged.
