Senior Human Resources Manager (Policy & Projects) (Temporary appointment)

[Appointment period: six months]

Duties 

The appointee will be required to: 

(a) participate in the review and development of university-wide people strategies and policies, projects and initiatives, and collaborate closely with operational teams of the Office in the implementation;

(b) support the review of pay and benefits for various staff categories to ensure competitiveness of the pay and reward mechanism, and monitor the large-scale annual pay adjustment exercises;

(c) review HR policies and pay mechanism for offices in the Chinese Mainland, and monitor implementation to ensure alignment with corporate governance standards;

(d) provide support for other functions, including performance management and staff development, as and when required; and

(e) perform any other duties as assigned by the Director of Human Resources or her delegates.

Qualifications 

Applicants should have: 

(a) a recognised degree;

(b) at least eight years of solid post-qualification human resource management at a supervisory level, preferably gained from large organisations or tertiary education institutions;

(c) a strong sense of ownership in driving various HR initiatives;

(d) strong critical thinking, analytical, communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to generate new ideas in pursuit of continuous improvements

(e) excellent project management and organisational skills, with the ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines;

(f) a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese.  Fluency in Putonghua is preferred;

(g) hands-on experience in HR related systems, and excellent computer skills, including advanced MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, etc.; and

(h) extensive knowledge of HR related ordinances in Hong Kong SAR.  Knowledge of Chinese Mainland labour ordinances is an advantage.
