Research Assistant

[Appointment period: twelve months initially, with possibility of further appointment]

Duties

The appointee will assist the project leader in the research project - “Effects of a single-session mindfulness-based intervention for reducing stress in family caregivers of people with dementia: a randomized controlled trial”.  He/She will be required to:

(a)    assist in the management of the project;

(b)    coordinate with collaborative partners and project team;

(c)    perform focus group / survey interviews;

(d)    transcribe focus group interviews;

(e)    provide support to the preparation of research material;

(f)     assist in data input & analysis (SPSS / R); and

(g)    perform any other duties as assigned by the project leader or his/her delegates.

Qualifications

Applicants should:

(a)    have an honours degree in Nursing, Psychology, Social Science or other health-related disciplines or an equivalent qualification;

(b)    have experience in conducting focus group / survey interviews;

(c)    be capable of using SPSS / R;

(d)    have a good command of both written and spoken English and Chinese, with fluency in Cantonese;

(e)    have good interpersonal and communication skills; and

(f)     be able to work independently.
