Professor (W2) of Experimental Reproductive Biology (m/f/d)

available immediately.

The position will be filled on a salaried basis, unless the appointed person is already a civil servant in Germany with “Beamten” status. The professorship is made available for a period of six years according to section 50 subsection 2 sentence 1 no. 5 of the Baden-Württemberg state law covering higher education and specifically the promotion of highly gifted junior researchers.

This professorship focuses on research in endometrial biology at the interface with immunology using experimental methods.

The successful candidate is expected to conduct research to understand the molecular, translational and preclinical fundamentals of infertility and habitual abortion at the intersection between experimental reproductive biology, molecular biology and immunology of the endometrium. Special focus should be placed on implantation disorders. Relevant, internationally recognized publications in the field of reproduction biology and/or reproductive endocrinology covering immunological issues as well as experience in obtaining competitive third-party funding are required.

Experience and expertise in the analysis of high dimensional omics-data (e.g. single-cell-transcriptomics and/or spatial-transcriptomics, metabolomic, proteomics) is desirable.

Active participation in the research focus areas of the Faculty of Medicine, particularly in the cross sectional area of immunology, is expected. Participation in and initiation of joint research projects is also expected.

Committed and active participation in teaching in the degree programs of the Faculty of Medicine, particularly with regard to innovative curricula and modern teaching formats, is expected; ideally, this will be complemented by highly evaluated teaching experience.

The teaching commitment is nine semester hours per week (SWS).

Requirements for employment are a relevant doctorate and postdoctoral qualifications and teaching experience equivalent to the requirements of a full professorship.
