Position Description
The Department of Applied Mathematics at Ecole polytechnique is recruiting a full-time Monge Professor in Applied Mathematics - statistical learning, deep learning, AI for mathematics, AI for Science - starting September 1, 2026. This is a tenure track position. It consists in two three-year contracts. After completion of a habilitation and subject to a positive evaluation by a scientific committee, this will lead to a tenured professor of the Ecole polytechnique position. The candidate must have defended a doctoral thesis in mathematics or computer science at the date of submission of the application. The candidate should present a detailed scientific project demonstrating how his or her research activity will reinforce existing research in the department.
