Job Description:

The Department of Electronics and Communications Engineering, School of Sciences and Engineering, the American University in Cairo invites applications for a full-time faculty position in the area of AI hardware acceleration including new architectures, in memory computation, Edge AI optimized chips, Low bit-width Neural networks, Analog AI chips, as well as new concepts for AI acceleration hardware. Strong theoretical background in AI, neural networks, and machine learning and emerging nanotechnologies is also required to synergize with hardware new architecture and concepts. Industrial experience, tape-out experience and experience using professional EDA tools are highly valued. The position is at Assistant/Associate Professor level, however, candidates with exceptional experience can be considered at the full professor level. The candidate is expected to teach and conduct research, play an active role in the department, the school, and the university service activities and actively cooperate with other faculty within the department. Also, the preference will be given to candidates who have evidence of initiating funding, relations, and programs in their field.


Requirements:

Candidates must hold a PhD or equivalent in Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related domain. Successful candidates should have an ongoing program of research and publication, have strong leadership capability, or potential, and proven skills in high quality teaching. Fluent English language skills is required.
