Job Description:

The School of Science and Engineering invites applicants for one full-time Assistant/Associate/Professor level position within the department of Petroleum and Energy Engineering.


Requirements:

Required Minimum Qualifications

  • BSc, MSc and Ph.D. in Petroleum Engineering, Drilling Engineering, or closely related discipline.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drilling engineering and well design.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong publication record or scholarly contributions in drilling engineering, wellbore mechanics, or related areas. 
  • Ability to generate research funds will be given priority.
  • Experience teaching courses such as:
  • Drilling Engineering
  • Well Completion
  • Well Design & Planning
  • Drilling Fluids & Hydraulics
  • Well Control & Safety
  • Directional Drilling & Advanced Drilling Technologies
    • Familiarity with industry-standard drilling software (e.g., Landmark, WellPlan, DrillBench, Compass), which can be brought into class is highly valued. 
    • Industry experience in drilling operations is a plus, well planning, or rig-site supervision.
    • Ability to supervise undergraduate projects, graduate theses, and research in drilling engineering.
    • Evidence of teaching ability at undergraduate and/or graduate levels.

    Four-year appointment, subject to mutual agreement, will begin Fall 2026. The appointment will be confirmed based on first year appointee's performance evaluation.
