The Dean of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, CTU in Prague, invites applications for a tenure‑track Lecturer position at the Department of Mathematics

The Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering (FNSPE) of the Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) is among the leading scientific and educational institutions in the Czech Republic. It covers a wide range of fields in mathematics, scientific computing, physics, chemistry, materials science, and nuclear engineering. The Department of Mathematics (KM) provides all mathematics teaching for all study programmes at FNSPE. It guarantees several bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral study programmes. Since 2025, it has been accredited to offer the professionally oriented combined master’s programme Didactics of Mathematics for Secondary Schools. The department is also engaged in research in various areas of theoretical and applied mathematics.
The Dean of the Faculty of Nuclear Sciences and Physical Engineering, CTU in Prague, invites applications for a tenure‑track Lecturer position at the Department of Mathematics. The initial appointment is for a fixed term of two years, with the possibility of transition to a tenured (indefinite‑term) position contingent on satisfactory performance and mutual agreement. The starting date is negotiable. The starting salary is 50,000–55,000 CZK per month, depending on the candidate’s qualifications and competencies.

      Job Description

  • teaching activities – teaching fundamental mathematics courses in bachelor’s programmes (mathematical and functional analysis, linear and general algebra, discrete mathematics), including preparation and delivery of classes and lectures,
  • preparation of study materials and examination assignments,
  • supervision of student projects, particularly bachelor’s theses,
  • participation in faculty outreach and promotional activities, 
  • other tasks related to the activities of the department.

  • master’s degree in mathematics,
  • proficiency in Czech/Slovak/English sufficient for teaching and supervising student projects,
  • teaching experience in university-level mathematics,
  • experience with the use of ICT in teaching,
  • proactive and responsible approach; ability to collaborate effectively in a team,
  • reliability, independence, responsibility, initiative,
  • willingness to pursue further professional development,
  • clean criminal, civil, and moral record.
