Offer Description

The Department of Psychology in the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Rijeka seeks to appoint Teaching and Research Assistants for a fixed term until the return of the absent employee.

The candidate is expected to teach at the university level (mostly in the area of research methods and educational psychology / inclusive education). Active engagement in designing, organising and conducting research in the domain of psychological science/psychology is also expected. The candidate it is expected to be able to use and have experience in using statistical software (e.g. SPSS, JASP, R).

Skills/Qualifications

Applicants must meet the requirements of the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Zakon o visokom obrazovanju i znanstvenoj djelatnosti, Official Gazette No. 119/22) and other legal acts that are based on it and are required to submit evidence of this.


Specific Requirements

Applicants are required to submit the following documents:

- a signed application,

- a CV,

- a copy of an identification document,

- a copy of the certificate of an BA and MA degree in Psychology or of a four-year undergraduate degree in Psychology (if issued by a university outside Croatia, a certified translation in Croatian and a proof of the degree’s recognition or of an application for its recognition issued by the Croatian Agency for Science and Higher Education),

- a transcript of grades of all the exams passed during the BA and MA degree course, as well as a diploma supplement.

Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in teaching at the university level (preferably in the domain of developmental and educational psychology) and who have experience in conducting research in the domain of psychological science / psychology.

Candidates who are not Croatian native speakers must submit proof of proficiency in the Croatian language at the advanced level.

Eligibility criteria

Selection process

The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences at the University of Rijeka reserves the right to assess applicants’ knowledge, interests and motivation in relation to the advertised position. Applicants who meet the requirements set out in the call for applications will be invited to attend an interview. The date and time of the interview will be communicated to them in due course.
An applicant who fails to attend the interview shall be deemed to have withdrawn their application and will no longer be considered in the selection procedure.
