Associate position senior assistant, based on the Croatian Science Foundation's competition ''Postdoctoral Research Projects'' (PDIP-2026), for a fixed term of 2 years, full-time – 5 employees (m/f)

1. in the Department of Thermodynamics, Mechanical Engineering and Energy, in the scientific field of technical sciences, scientific field of chemical engineering – 1 employee (m/f)

2. in the Department of Polymer Engineering and Organic Chemical Technology, in the scientific field of technical sciences, scientific field of chemical engineering – 1 employee (m/f)

3. in the Department of Electrochemistry, in the scientific field of technical sciences, chemical engineering – 1 employee (m/f)

4. in the Department of Analytical Chemistry, in the scientific field of natural sciences, scientific field of chemistry – 1 employee (m/f)

5. in the Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry, in the scientific field of natural sciences, scientific field of chemistry – 1 employee (m/f)

Requirement: PhD in the relevant field.

The competition is announced within the framework of the Croatian Science Foundation's program "Postdoctoral Research Projects" (PDIP-2026 - more information available at the link: https://hrzz.hr/prijava/otvoreni-natjecaji/ ) - as the first part of a two-stage process.

The second process is carried out by the Croatian Science Foundation.

Candidates for PDIP project leaders apply to the Croatian Science Foundation independently of the application for the relevant competition, filling out the documentation requested by the competition.

After the closing of the Croatian Science Foundation competition, the Croatian Science Foundation evaluates the applications and, within the prescribed deadline, delivers to the institutions the scoring scale and a proposal for financing the project proposals.

In accordance with the above, the main outcome of the competition is related to the project evaluation process carried out by the Croatian Science Foundation and only those candidates who are positively assessed in the competition of the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Technology and are favorably ranked on the scoring scales of the Croatian Science Foundation's PDIP competition, can be employed at the Faculty and their projects can be financed.

The terms used in this vacancy in the masculine gender are neutral and refer to persons of both male and female gender.

All applicants must meet the requirements prescribed by the Labor Act and submit the following to the application: CV, copy diplomas/proof of the required qualifications, certificate of citizenship, certificate that no investigative or criminal proceedings have been initiated against the applicant (not older than 6 months) and a copy of the length of service from the Croatian Pension Insurance Institute. Applicants for the associate position of senior assistant must also meet the conditions prescribed by the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act.

The data will be kept until the end of the competition procedure, or as long as prescribed by legal obligations.

All applicants who, in their application for the competition, invoke the right to priority in employment under special regulations under equal conditions, are obliged, in addition to proof of meeting the required conditions, to submit all prescribed documentation under a special law.
