The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, based on Article 14, Paragraph 6, Item 15 of the Statute of the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, and in accordance with the Croatian Science Foundation (HRZZ) call for applications for Postdoctoral Research Projects (PDIP-2026), hereby announces a

PUBLIC CALL
For the selection and employment of:

One employee for the position of Senior Assistant in the scientific area of Biotechnical Sciences, scientific field Food Technology, for a fixed-term, full-time position for a period of 2 years , for work on the Croatian Science Foundation project Postdoctoral Research Projects (PDIP-2026) in the Laboratory for Food Processes Engineering of the Department of Food Engineering

Mandatory requirements:

• All applicants must meet the general conditions prescribed by the Labour Act (“Official Gazette” Nos. 93/14, 127/17, 98/19, 151/22, and 64/23) and comply with the provisions of the Higher Education and Science Act (“Official Gazette” No. 119/2022), the Statute of the University of Zagreb, the Statute of the Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology..

Conditions prescribed by the Croatian Science Foundation's call for applications – Postdoctoral Research Projects (PDIP-2026) of February 16, 2026:

• - the candidate must have obtained a doctorate (PhD) no more than 5 years before the deadline for submitting an application to the PDIP-2026 call, with the possibility of extending the deadline in accordance with the rules of the HRZZ call for applications up to a maximum of 7 years
• - the candidate must have an ORCID identifier (https://orcid.org/ )
• - the candidate must propose a postdoctoral research project and an accompanying financial plan that will be applied for in the PDIP-2026 call

Documents required with the application:

Applicants (m/f) who are shortlisted may be invited for an interview and/or testing.

The outcome of the competition depends on the project evaluation process conducted by the Croatian Food Safety Authority.

The University of Zagreb, Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology will employ the candidate who is positively ranked on the points scales of the Croatian Food Safety Authority's PDIP competition and who is the best evaluated in this competition.

Applicants entitled to preferential employment rights according to:

• Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Veterans of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (“Official Gazette” Nos. 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23);
• Article 48 of the Act on Civilian Victims of the Homeland War (“Official Gazette” Nos., 84/21)
