Offer Description
Pursuant to Article 32 of the Statute of the Institute for Anthropological Research and the Decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute for Anthropological Research adopted at its 257th session held on 4 February 2026, and in accordance with the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No. 119/2022), the Institute for Anthropological Research hereby announces the following
PUBLIC CALL
for the selection and employment
– for the position Project Associate – Professional Associate in the System of Science and Higher Education for work on the project INANTRO_Connect – Building Bridges for Excellence in Multi-Omics, at the Institute for Anthropological Research (1 position) at 50% of full-time working hours.
The employment contract shall be concluded for a fixed term at 50% of full-time working hours, with a probation period of six months, for the maximum duration of the project phase for which the professional associate is employed under this call, or at most for the duration of the project funding.
Mandatory requirements
In addition to the general requirements for establishing an employment relationship under the provisions of the applicable Labour Act, applicants must meet the requirements prescribed by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (Official Gazette No. 119/2022), the Statute, and the Regulation on the Organization of Positions and Jobs of the Institute for Anthropological Research

- a completed university graduate study programme in the interdisciplinary field of science or natural sciences
- active knowledge of the English language
- advanced computer skills
Preference in employment will be given to candidates who also meet additional requirements related to the project’s professional field, such as:
- demonstrated experience in bioinformatics
- knowledge of omics technologies
- knowledge of machine learning and artificial intelligence
- experience working with biobank data
- developed analytical skills and the ability to independently solve problems in multidisciplinary teams
- work experience or residence abroad
- high professional standards and motivation
- experience in teamwork in domestic and international environments
Job description
- administrative and organizational management of the project
- maintaining project documentation in accordance with the funder’s rules
- participation in establishing the project management structure, defining responsibilities and communication channels
- organization and coordination of regular project meetings
- monitoring the implementation of project activities, deadlines, performance indicators and key results
- preparation, collection and processing of data for technical and financial reports
- participation in the preparation and submission of project reports to the competent funding authority
- communication and coordination with the project team, project leader and competent institutions
- monitoring the compliance of the project with legal, administrative and ethical requirements
- supporting the project leader in resolving operational and administrative issues during project implementation
- participation in the preparation of project documentation
- performing other tasks related to project implementation as instructed by the project leader

- proof of knowledge of the Croatian language at level B2 (for foreign applicants)
