The University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics and Business announces

COMPETITION 6/2026

To conduct the selection procedure for one employee for the associate position of assistant, for the scientific field of social sciences, scientific field of economics, for a fixed term full-time.

Applicants must meet the requirements set out in the Higher Education and Scientific Activity Act (OG 119/22).

Employment requirements:

- completed graduate or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in economics/business economics,

- applicant from the ranks of the most successful students,

- excellent knowledge of the English language.

Additional requirements that give applicants an advantage:

- success in courses in the field of business economics

- developed organizational, communication, analytical, IT and teamwork skills, writing skills, and conscientiousness and responsibility towards work.

The following must be attached to the signed application for the competition:

- CV,

- proof of completed graduate or integrated undergraduate and graduate university studies in economics/business economics (applicants who have obtained their qualification abroad must submit a reasoned opinion from the competent agency on the foreign educational qualification),

- proof of Croatian citizenship (copy of ID card, passport or certificate of citizenship) or citizenship of another country; foreign citizens are required to submit proof of knowledge of the Croatian language (level B2) according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages,

- proof that the applicant is one of the most successful students,

- transcript of grades from the university graduate, or university undergraduate and university graduate studies/integrated studies,

- proof of knowledge of the English language (certificate, certificate, copy of a certificate/diploma showing that an English language exam has been passed or similar).

Applications for the competition and evidence of meeting the criteria must be submitted electronically. The competition is open to persons of both sexes on equal terms. Terms used in this competition that have a gender meaning are used neutrally and refer equally to both sexes.

Applicants who, pursuant to Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and Members of Their Families (Official Gazette 121/17, 98/19, 84/21 and 156/23) and the provisions of other special regulations, the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (Official Gazette 157/13, 152/14, 39/18 and 32/20) and the Act on the Protection of Military and Civilian War Invalids (Official Gazette 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 02/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13 and 98/19), exercise the right to priority in employment, are obliged to refer to this right in their application for the competition and to attach all evidence for exercising the said right. and have priority over other applicants only under equal conditions.

The Faculty reserves the right, before making a decision, to conduct a knowledge and skills assessment by testing and/or interview with applicants who submit a timely and proper application and meet the formal requirements of the competition. Applicants will be notified in a timely manner about the testing and/or interview. If an applicant does not take the assessment, it will be considered that he or she has withdrawn his or her application for the competition. The Faculty reserves the right not to select any applicant for the competition.

By applying for the competition, applicants expressly agree that the University of Rijeka, Faculty of Economics, as the manager of the personal data collection, may collect, use and further process data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure, in accordance with European and national regulations and internal acts on the protection of personal data, ensuring the correct handling of this data by all persons who will be legally granted access to the data, which includes their use exclusively for lawful purposes and in no way that could be considered contrary to the interests of the applicant.

The deadline for submitting applications is 30 (thirty) days from the date of publication of the competition in the Official Gazette.
