Position Description
The School of Mathematics, Harbin Institute of Technology (China), are hiring talented researchers in Geophysics and Earth and Planetary Science. We warmly welcome accomplished researchers in these fields to join us. Our faculty boasts outstanding scholars in these fields, offering new faculty members both collaborative opportunities and a supportive academic environment. HIT and the School will provide comprehensive support ranging from competitive remuneration to living conditions.
The compensation for scholars will be determined on a case-by-case basis according to their academic achievements. For exceptionally outstanding individuals who meet the criteria of a distinguished chair professorship, the pre-tax annual salary could exceed 1.5 million RMB. 
For reference, we provide below the typical compensation for each position: Assistant Professor: CNY 310,000–350,000/year (pre-tax); Associate Professor: CNY 500,000/year (pre-tax); Full Professor: CNY 800,000/year (pre-tax). Performance-based incentives and research productivity bonuses for high-impact research achievements are uncapped. National Talent Program Recipients will qualify for elevated compensation packages.
Fast-tracked doctoral advisor eligibility forr Associate/Full(or part-time) Professors meeting the university's "Essential Requirements for Doctoral Supervisor Appointment".
Highly qualified researchers can apply for a part-time position as Chair Professor (typically 1.00.000 RMB/month). On-campus presence is required for two months per year.
