Please Note: This is a temporary position ending on or before June 30, 2027, with the possibility of extension.

 

This position is part of the Education Insights, Data & Research team. The team is responsible for providing information to support strategic decision-making for business partners in the education portfolio. Team members have strong skills and solid experience in the collection, analysis and reporting of qualitative and quantitative data. As a key partner team in the education portfolio, this team advances a data-informed culture and evidence-based decision-making through collaborative partnerships.

 

Policy and Strategy Insights Position

Reporting to the Research Specialist, Policy and Strategy Insights, the Research Analyst contributes to institutional research and analysis to assess the impact of existing policies and strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide research and data-driven insights to contribute to enrolment initiatives
  • Provide analytical support for institutional research and institutional policymaking
  • Collect, organize, and interpret complex data sets to inform policy and strategy decisions
  • Support the scripting of analytical programs to automate statistical analyses; troubleshoot errors and recommend innovative solutions
  • Support stakeholder engagement, gather and implement feedback on analytical methods and reports
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, statistical methods, and new software

 

Skills & Abilities:

  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Advanced quantitative and analytical skills with an aptitude for deriving insightful summaries from large data sets
  • Ability to explain analytical concepts to individuals with varying analytical backgrounds
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement, critical thinking, and decision making
  • Proficient in R and Python for analysis and modeling, with experience in SQL for data extraction
  • Comfortable navigating ambiguity and proactively identifying solutions
  • Experience in modelling complex data sets and environments
  • Experience working in post-secondary education is considered an asset
  • Experience implementing change and developing new procedures is considered an asset
  • Familiarity with Large Language Models (LLMs) is considered an asset

 

Qualifications:

  • A graduate degree in a quantitative field or an undergraduate degree and a minimum of 4 years of experience in a related quantitative role.

 

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

 

 

Remuneration: $84,655.22 - $112,153.60 annually, plus a comprehensive benefits package.
