About the Ministry


The Ministry of SaskBuilds and Procurement supports the delivery of services to citizens by providing central coordination and delivery of services such as procurement, facilities, and project management. The Corporate Services Branch provides financial and administrative expertise that supports the ministry’s strategic direction and program delivery.


The Opportunity

The Corporate Services Branch is seeking an energetic, detail‑oriented, and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Contract Administrator. Reporting to the Manager, Contract Building and Financial Tracking, this position provides division‑wide services related to accounting for capital and major projects. The successful candidate will support project managers to ensure compliance with the Financial Administration Manual (FAM), relevant legislation, and ministry policies. Additional duties may be assigned by the Manager, Contract Administration.


The Ideal Candidate
You will have knowledge of:
  • Accounting principles and procedures including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and contract administration processes.
  • Computer applications such as word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and integrated financial systems.

You will have the demonstrated ability to:
  • Explain financial, statistical, administrative, policy, procedural, regulatory, and audit information verbally and/or in writing, at an appropriate level for various audiences.
  • Establish and maintain open and honest working relationships with staff, other ministries, and/or the public to obtain, exchange, coordinate, and verify information.
  • Compare, recognize, and correct discrepancies across multiple data sets to balance financial information and ensure data integrity.
  • Interpret and appropriately apply complex and sometimes conflicting policies, agreements, contracts, acts, and regulations to daily operations and challenging situations.
  • Accurately perform mathematical calculations to verify and reconcile financial information.
  • Plan and organize a high volume of work while managing frequent interruptions, shifting priorities, and tight deadlines.
  • Work independently and collaboratively within a team environment to meet deadlines, goals, and objectives.
  • Input, edit, update, retrieve, maintain, and format data; generate queries, reports, and documents using word processing, databases, spreadsheets, communications tools, and other software with speed and accuracy.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

You will be:
  • Accurate and detail‑oriented, ensuring high‑quality and reliable financial information is provided to clients.

Qualifications

Typically, the knowledge and abilities required for this position would be obtained through:

  • Completion of, or progress toward, a certificate in accounting; and
  • Related experience in accounts payable, accounts receivable, data entry, and contract administration.
