Please Note: This position is primarily onsite; however, remote work may be possible depending on course delivery requirements.

Areas of Expertise Currently Sought:

  • Advanced taxation

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct classroom/lab instruction utilizing appropriate instructional strategies to maximize student motivation and learning;
  • Evaluate the learning process:  ensure learning is evaluated in a reliable and timely manner providing appropriate feedback to students;
  • Provide coaching or referral for students having difficulties, to maximize retention and student success;
  • Use an institute approved process to solicit feedback on instruction from students and use the results to improve instructional delivery;
  • Maintain professional ethical relationships with students and colleagues; respond professionally to student issues and concerns; submit marks/records promptly;
  • In accordance with a designated framework, utilize appropriate educational technology (learning management system) for communications; 


Qualifications:

  • Professional Accounting Designation (Chartered Professional Accountant)
  • Strong interpersonal and team skills
  • Energetic leader dedicated to a service model with a strong orientation to student success and satisfaction and empathetic toward student needs
  • Master’s Degree desirable
  • Previous instructional experience desirable
  • Experience working with/teaching advanced taxation topics including shareholder benefits, Section 85 rollovers, reorganization, amalgamation, windup, death of a taxpayer, and partnership taxation

 

 

Applicants with education credentials earned outside of Canada should have their credentials evaluated by World Education Services (WES), International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS) or the Comparative Education Services (CES).

 

Remuneration: $99/Scheduled Instruction Hour. (Classification – Instructor Casual Credit).

 

All casual instructor assignments are covered by the NAIT Academic Staff Association (NASA) Collective Agreement
