Offer Description

1. Outline

Applications are invited for a Post-Doctoral Fellowship, as part of a Thematic Project funded by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP) and hosted by University of São Paulo's São Carlos School of Engineering (EESC-USP) in Brazil.

The project concerns the investigation of surface dryout near the critical point during flow boiling, aiming to (i) track transient liquid fronts at Critical Heat Flux and (ii) assess heat transfer during surface drying and rewetting, using optical fiber thermal sensing and a high-speed IR camera.

2. What is Funded

This fellowship is fully funded by FAPESP and includes a monthly stipend worth BRL 12,570.00, research overhead equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship to support research-related expenses, a moving cost allowance for candidates relocating to São Carlos, guaranteed paid maternity/paternity leave, and full reimbursement for personal contributions to social security.

3. Duration

The fellowship is granted for 36 months.

4. Eligibility and Requirements

• PhD obtained within the last 4 years or by May 31st;

• Background in IR image analysis and experimental phase change studies;

• Full-time commitment required.
