Offer Description

This post-doctoral fellowship is intended for the development of a comparative study on international models for addressing and managing open drug scenes. The research plan examines experiences in cities such as São Paulo, Bogotá, Mexico City, Lisbon, and Zurich, focusing on the identification of institutional best practices and urban governance strategies.

The study will combine document analysis, interviews with public managers and international experts, and the construction of a comparative analytical framework covering health policies, harm reduction, public security, housing, and social assistance. The goal is to produce evidence-based recommendations adaptable to the context of the city of São Paulo, contributing to the improvement of local public policies.

The fellow will work within the scope of the SCD – Open Drug Scenes project, one of the Science Centers for Development in São Paulo state (Brazil) supported by the São Paulo Research Foundation (FAPESP).

Requirements:

• Completed PhD in any field;
• Experience in comparative public policy analysis;
• Experience with qualitative and quantitative methods;
• Intermediate knowledge of statistics and database construction;
• Intermediate proficiency in Excel;
• Experience in project management.

This opportunity is open to candidates of any nationality. The selected candidate will receive a FAPESP Post-Doctoral fellowship in the amount of R$ 12,570.00 monthly and a research contingency fund, equivalent to 10% of the annual value of the fellowship which should be spent on items directly related to the research activity.
