YOUR TASKS 

We are looking for a postdoctoral researcher in the domain of sustainability of the built environment with a specific focus on life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle costing (LCC).

  • You participate in a research project on using natural and local building materials and their environmental performance, both on a material and on a building level
  • You support ongoing projects in the domain of life cycle assessment of buildings
  • You support education and you guide master thesis students (on average 10% of your time)
  • You support the preparation of new research projects in this domain

You will be part of the building physics research group at Ghent University (Faculty of Engineering and Architecture).

  • Je hebt een diploma van Doctor op proefschrift in het domein van levenscyclusanalyse van gebouwen
  • Kennis van de LCA-tool Simapro is een pluspunt
  • Je hebt ervaring met het aanvragen van projectvoorstellen
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • You are a dynamic team player

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU 

  • We offer you a contract of definite duration for the period from 01/05/2026 to 30/04/2027.
  •  Your contract will start on 01/05/2026 at the earliest.
  • Your remuneration will be determined by salary scale PD1 to PD4 (if you hold a doctorate).  Click here for more information about our salary scales .
