The Mechanical Engineering department of the VUB is looking for a PostDoc candidate to host/participate and in the setup ofstrategic basic research project whose results lead to economic valorisation of the research results in the field of data acquisition for hybrid metal additive manufacturing and manufacturing process.
Are you a postdoctoral researcher or a PhD candidate who is about to graduate and has a passion for metal additive manufacturing, machine vision, data acquisition or Ethernet-based fieldbuses, and do you also have experience in software development? If so, we would very much like to discuss with you whether you are eligible for a VLAIO innovation mandate.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to contribute to the group's R&D output in the following topics during their Innovation mandate:
develop and support innovation project in 3D metal printing, data acquisition and advanced imaging solutions;
collaborate with leading Flemish industry partners (Belgium);
receive funding and support to explore spin-off potential;
work in a dynamic, interdisciplinary research environment at VUB.
For this function, our Brussels Humanities, Sciences & Engineering Campus (Elsene) will serve as your home base.
