Offer Description
Your Responsibilities
- Qualitative analysis of choice architectures and recommendation algorithms of social media platforms in the context of their communicative function within democracies
- Development and implementation of participatory formats for the co-creation of innovative online discourse spaces
- Assistance with the communication of scientific findings on social media platforms to decision-makers in politics and society
- Writing a dissertation and obtaining a doctorate (social sciences)
- Collaboration with the working group “Complex Social & Computational Systems” (IDea_Lab)
- Organization of networking events between the IDea_Lab and the faculty social and economic sciences
- Presentation and publication of scientific results at (international) conferences and in scientific journals
Your Profile
- Completed diploma or master's degree in sociology, political science, or a related field
- Very good written and spoken English skills
- Knowledge of the German language (desirable)
- Experience with the qualitative analysis of social media platforms, for example using grounded theory
- Experience with qualitative research methods
- Further training in moderation techniques
- Experience with organizing workshops and exchange formats
- Experience with working in interdisciplinary and international teams (desirable)
- Experience in political communication (desirable)
- Interest in the technical fundamentals of recommendation algorithms (desirable)
- Ability to work independently and high degree of initiative

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 52,865.40 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
