Your Responsibilities
- Strengthening the research focus "Aging and Cell Death" through independent research on the molecular mechanisms of age-dependent cell degeneration
- Collaboration with established research groups at the Institute of Molecular Biosciences within the field of excellence "BioHealth" and the Cluster of Excellence "MetAGE"
- Contribution to teaching in molecular biology and microbiology; co-supervision of students in the context of Bachelor's and Master's theses as well as dissertations
- Contribution to organizational and administrative tasks
Your Profile
- Completed doctoral/Ph.D. studies in Biology, Molecular Biology, Microbiology, or Biochemistry
- International publication activity in a current field of biological stress response, preferably relevant to aging and cell death research
- Expertise in working with the model organism Drosophila melanogaster
- Expertise in working with other model organisms (preferably S. cerevisiae and/or M. musculus); FELASA B certificate or equivalent if applicable
- Expertise in working with human cell culture
- Knowledge of specialized methods for determining age-related parameters in the model organism Drosophila (e.g. memory, climbing, food consumption, etc.) (desirable)
- Didactic aptitude for participation in teaching in the field of Microbiology/Molecular Biology (Bachelor and Master levels)
- Excellent command of German and English (level C1) as well as scientific terminology
- Theoretical and practical knowledge in the fields of aging, cell death, polyamines, and polyphenols (desirable)
- Independent and self-responsible working style
- Reliability

We offer an annual gross salary of at least € 70,200.20 for a fulltime position. An overpayment based on qualification and experience is possible.
