  • $135,978 - $145,693 + 17% Superannuation and Flexible Working Arrangements

About You

This newly created Project Lead (Go To Market) role is focused on delivering a high‑impact transition for RMIT. You’ll lead the coordination of the transition of online Award programs into the University, bringing marketing and recruitment capability into the Engagement Portfolio. Working across brand, lead generation, product proposition, lead management and nurture, this role is about creating clarity and momentum in a complex environment. You’ll be setting up the governance, plans, processes and change required to make this transition work, partnering closely with senior leaders, digital and technology teams, and stakeholders across the University.

This is a role for someone who enjoys working through complexity and is confident building relationships with senior leaders across the University. You’ll work closely with executives and specialist teams across marketing, digital and technology, helping guide a transition that matters to how RMIT shows up in the market. People come to RMIT for work that matters and the chance to be trusted with real responsibility. This role gives you ownership of a high‑profile transition, exposure to senior leaders, and the opportunity to see a complex piece of work through from start to finish, with a clear sense of what you’ve delivered.

To be successful in this position, you’ll have:

Essential:

  • Demonstrated experience managing complex programs or projects.

  • Strong project and program management capability including planning, governance, risk management and reporting.

  • Experience coordinating cross-functional initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and workstreams.

  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to build effective working relationships across teams, portfolios and senior leadership groups.

  • Highly developed organisational, analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and support informed decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills, including experience preparing briefing materials, reports and presentations for senior stakeholders.

Desirable:

  • Understanding of Go To Market functions such as marketing, recruitment, digital experience, lead management or customer lifecycle activity, and the ability to work effectively across these domains.

  • Experience working in agile or iterative delivery environments, including the use of project or workflow management platforms (e.g. Monday.com).

Please Note: Appointment to this position is subject to passing a Working with Children and National Police Check.

About the Portfolio

The Engagement Portfolio provides integrated, strategic leadership across the University to advance RMIT’s reputation, reach, and revenue, encompassing a range of functions, including domestic and international student recruitment; global marketing; market intelligence and propositions; strategic communications; advancement function that includes donor relations, philanthropic advancement; and industry engagement and partnerships. 

The portfolio leads the development and execution of major fundraising campaigns aligned with institutional priorities and stewards high value partnerships with industry, government, and community to generate measurable impact. It enables data informed decision-making through market insights to support integrated operations, strengthen relationship management, and enhance performance reporting. 

Through innovation, collaboration, and strategic partnerships, the Engagement Portfolio plays a critical role in diversifying revenue streams and expanding RMIT’s presence in alignment with its long-term strategic objectives.
